But like-- I used to read ML Tumblr, so I know there are some people who want to seize control of society by force and violently suppress the opposition, including people whose dissent consists of speech only. I've seen jokes and fantasies about reeducation camps, including reeducating OTHER LEFTISTS who you just think are wrong and annoying. And like, I also grew up around fundamentalist Christians, and they want as many people possible to submit to submit to God, and many think the state should compel people to pray or engage in Christian rituals, and that losing the ability to make non-Christian kids pray (or have to awkwardly opt out of prayer) is like an unacceptable loss to their power master-minded by people who hate them. That's not the exact thing, but I've spent a decent amount of time around people who had some pretty illiberal views and were okay with some things I consider ideologically abusive.
